EFFECT:
An elastic band invisibly jumps from around two of your fingers to two other fingers as if by magic.

MATERIALS:
An elastic band.

SECRET SETUP:
There is none.

PRESENTATIONS:
Place the elastic band around your first two fingers. Hold the palm of your hand towards you. Pull back on the elastic band. This forms a loop.

Curl all four of your fingers into this loop while making a fist.

Now rest the elastic band on the tips of your fingers. (Do these moves secretly so that it looks like you are just making a fist.)

When you open all of your fingers at the same time, the elastic will jump from the first and second fingers to the third and fourth fingers.

By doing the same actions as above, the elastic band can jump back to the original fingers. With practice, these actions will be smooth and unnoticeable.

BONUS EFFECT:
After you show your audience the elastic trick described above, you say,

“Now you might think that the elastic band is just coming over the tops of my fingers. However, I’ll prove that it is not by making an impossible barrier with another elastic band.” Criss-cross another elastic band over the tops of your fingers to make an impossible barrier to pass.
